- LIC (International) B.S.C.(C) Bahrain is an offshore subsidiary of Life Insurance Corporation of India, a Premier Public Sector Undertaking of Govt. of India. The company is registered in Bahrain as an Exempt Company. The authorised paid up capital of the Company is US$15.95 million(BD 6 million). The Company is managing assets of US$ 332 million as on 31.12.2006.

What is the currency in which Policies are issued and claims settled?
- All policies will be issued in US $. Claims can be setteled in any currency and sent anywhwere as per choice.
Can I pay all premiums in a short duration?
- Yes, you can pay all premiums in one Single Installment which will entitle you to an attractive discount. You can also opt to pay premiums with in five years under "Limited Term Premium Payment" scheme . Advance premium for next five years can also be paid in lump sum at an attractive discount.
Why is nomination necessary?
- Nomination facilitates settlement of claim in the event of unfortunate death of the life assured in favour of nominee. Name of the nominee should be clearly mentioned in the Proposal Form.
Can I change the Nomination?
- Yes, you can change the nomination at any time during the tenure of the policy by using the prescribed format which you can download.
What is Assignment ?
- An assignment has the effect of transferring right, title and interest in the policy in favour of another person or institution out of natural love and affection or for valuable consideration.
Can I assign the Policy?
- Yes, you can assign the policy by serving the notice of assignment on the company. The company will register the assignment without expressing opinion about it’s validity.

What is Survival Benefit?
- In our Cash Back and Cash & Added Cover Plans there is a provision of payment of moneys at given intervals? This is called survival benefits.
What is Maturity Claim?
- After the expiry of the policy period, moneys payable on the date of maturity is called Maturity Claim.
How do I get my claims?
- We have a system of intimating you claims payable well before the due date of payment of claim. You are simply required to complete and return the discharge voucher along with original Policy Bond to facilitate the payment.
Is a policy taken from LIC(Intl.) B.S.C.(C), Bahrain transferable to LIC of India?
- Yes. At the request of the policyholder, the policy can be transferred to LIC of India on his repatriation if one full years premiums have been paid and adjusted and the policy is in force for full Sum Assured, or, if the policy has acquired Paid Up value on the condition that the same will be revived in India.
Can the premium under a policy transferred to India be paid in foreign currency?
- Yes. Premiums due on rupee policies (held in Indian Register) can be paid in foreign currency either by direct remittance from abroad in foreign currency through banking channels in an approved manner, or, by remittance through postal channels like foreign money order, or, by cheque drawn on the non-resident account of the policyholder with an authorised dealer in foreign exchange in India.
